NEED SHELTER NOW?

Let’s secure your safety!

C3 Home's process is underpinned by love, compassion, and a deep commitment to the women and children we serve.

We follow a comprehensive process to ensure we provide the best support to the women and children we serve.

Our process is more than a series of steps; it's a journey of love, empowerment, and transformation.

Our process includes:

  • Ongoing Support:

We continue to extend our love and support, adjusting the plan as needed while sharing laughs along the way. Progress is important, but so is keeping spirits high.

  • Personalized Plan:

Based on the assessment, we develop a personalized plan that addresses your specific needs with a sprinkle of fun.

  • Implementation:

We then implement the plan. We walk alongside you, providing the necessary services and support. We're here for you, every step of the way.

  • A Loving Assessment:

We promise, no scary interrogations. We begin with a heart-to-heart conversation to understand your unique situation, needs, and aspirations. We approach this conversation with empathy, respect, and non-judgment.

  • Graduation with Celebration:

Once you've achieved your goals and attained stability and independence, you graduate from our housing program. But our love and support don't end there; we're always here for you, providing resources and support as needed.

FREQUENTLY

ASKED

QUESTIONS

  • We’re sorry, but C3 Home doesn't offer emergency shelter. Our focus is on transitional housing, coupled with a range of supportive services to help women with children.

  • The eligibility criteria can vary based on the specific program or service. Generally, services are designed to support women with children who are facing homelessness or unstable housing situations. Here are some common criteria:

    1. To qualify for our housing program, the applicant must be a mother who has one or more dependent children and holds legal custody of them.

    2. The applicant must be facing homelessness, which could include living in a shelter, on the streets, in a vehicle, or in a place not meant for habitation.

    3. The applicant will need to demonstrate a willingness to participate in WPMC services, which include mental health education, financial literacy training, and other supportive programs.

    4. Certain programs may necessitate the applicant to meet specific income levels or be dealing with particular issues, like recovery from substance abuse.

Please note that these are general guidelines, and the exact criteria can vary. It's always best to contact us directly for the most accurate information.

  • Our housing duration can vary based on the specific needs and progress of each individual. However, we would like to provide our families with up to two-year temporary housing. The goal of the program is not just to provide temporary shelter but to equip mothers with the skills and resources they need to achieve long-term stability and independence.

  • Volunteering or donating is a commendable initiative! Here are the ways you can do so:

    1. Volunteering: Visit our website to find out about current volunteering opportunities. These could range from mentoring, teaching classes, administrative work, to helping with events.

    2. Donating: You can make a financial contribution through our website. We may also have specific campaigns or projects you can contribute to. If you have items to donate, contact us at donate@c3home.org to find out what our families currently need.

Remember, any contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact. Your support can help C3 Home continue to provide essential services to women and children in need.

  • We collaborate with other organizations in several ways to maximize our impact:

    1. Partnership: We partner with other non-profits, businesses, individuals and government agencies to provide comprehensive services. For example, we work with health clinics for medical services or schools for educational support.

    2. Referrals: If a client needs a service that we do not provide, we refer them to a partner organization that does.

    3. Joint Programs: We develop joint programs with other organizations. For instance, we work with a financial institution to provide financial literacy classes for our families.

    4. Funding: C3 Home receives funding from donations, other organizations, or by applying for grants to fund our programs.

    5. Advocacy: We work with other organizations to advocate for policies that benefit our families. Collaboration is key to addressing the complex issues facing the women and children we serve. By working together, organizations can leverage their resources and expertise to make a greater impact!

  • C3 Home's focus is on serving the community of Gary, Indiana. However, our services are accessible to non-residents based on the organization's capacity and the specific needs of the individual. If we are unable to provide assistance to non-residents, we will refer them to similar services in their own communities. Remember, the goal of C3 Home is to help as many women and children in need as possible, and we do our best to provide guidance and support, regardless of where someone is from.
